Pursuit force review
a review I wrote for school a while ago that i thought could still hold up on my blog
Pursuit
Force Review
The
awesome game I am reviewing is a psp exclusive called Pursuit Force. The
Premise of the game is simple. Capital State is a city being terrorized by five
gangs. You are a member of a new and
elite police division called the pursuit force assigned with cleaning the
streets of these gangs. The gangs are The Capelli Family which is the game’s
version of the Italian Mafia, The Warlords are basically mercenaries, The
Convicts are nothing more than stereotypical prison escapees, The killer 66 are
crazed drug dealers, and then there are the vixens who are ex-Hollywood stunt
girls who steal prototype weaponry and international works of priceless art. Though the plot is simple, the gameplay is
where the game shines.
In
the game you have various mission types. For example, in one mission I was
driving a person who quit the Capelli Family to the airport so he could get on
a flight to give information on the gang to government. Of course, current
members of the Capelli Family were trying to shoot us so I had to shoot them
while avoiding traffic. In the next mission, hitmen from the Capelli Family
were on their way to assassinate delegates and I had to jump from motorboat to
motorboat while shooting down the hitmen. During that objective, I got to try
out the game’s selling point.
The
hook of the game is that you get from vehicle to vehicle during the high speed
chase sequences of the game (which is 90% of the game) which sells the point of
Hollywood high speed chase sequences. I
also really like the controls of the game. There is a lock on targeting system
on enemies so that you never waste a single bullet. The vehicles also handle
really smoothly. Because the controls are simple, the game is accessible and
easy to pick up.
This
game is very similar to the 2010 hit, Need
for Speed Hot Pursuit in many ways but they are also very different. One difference is that there are no guns in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. However,
they are similar in that they both deal with high speed car chases. They
are also different in the fact that there is no open world in Pursuit Force. Another similarity is
that they both have a cops verses criminals element.
I
got this game for $3 and it is an 8 star out of 10 star game. This game is also
extremely underrated and deserves more recognition. This is the most fun and
original psp game I have ever played. It may have a learning curve. Though,
Considering that the price of a psp is the price of a ps3 game ($60) and Pursuit Force is only $3, I demand that
you stop listening to my review and purchase both.
